n a desperate attempt to deflect blame for the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is now spreading fake news and blaming the United States for its genesis. After releasing a few trial balloons of this false narrative, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) propaganda machine finally released its full-blown, concocted fantasy around March 13, 2020, via tweeter..
According to the publication MarketWatch, “China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Zhao Lijian, who tweeted: ‘CDC was caught on the spot. When did patient zero begin in US? How many people are infected? What are the names of the hospitals? It might be US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan. Be transparent! Make public your data! US owe us an explanation!’”
So the CCP, through its spokesperson Zhao Lijian, wants the entire world to believe that the United States—not the CCP, is to blame for this pandemic. The fact that Chinese President Xi Jin Ping and his propaganda machine have been highly successful hoodwinking his people does not mean that he will be equally successful with the rest of humanity.
The deadly coronavirus may have made the leap from animal to human at the Wuhan wet market, where wild animals were routinely bought and sold for food. To make matters worse, after people started falling ill, the CCP did its utmost to suppress the negative news. It even went so far as to reprimand the late Dr. Li Wenliang in late 2019 and threatened him with arrest. Dr. Li later succumbed to the COVID-19 virus.
Recently, U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul, Lead Republican of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, “sent a letter to the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), calling on the organization to state the clear public health risks of China’s wildlife markets, also referred to as wet markets, one of which is the suspected birthplace of the COVID-19 outbreak as well as the confirmed origin of the SARS epidemic, and to help end the particularly unsanitary practice of trading or selling wildlife at these markets. McCaul also urged the Director-General to reprimand the People’s Republic of China (PRC) officials that are attempting to hide the origins of this virus,” a House news release noted.
China’s reckless use of exotic animals for food or use in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has endangered all peoples around the globe. As McCaul’s letter to the WHO points out, “unfortunately, the world has suffered from several unique diseases originating from China, including SARS, avian flu, and the current COVID-19 pandemic.”
This pandemic may eventually end up killing millions worldwide and costing nations trillions of dollars. Instead of blaming others, the CCP must acknowledge its past shortcomings and promise never to repeat them. The world has already suffered enough from their cavalier attitude. Published 3/26/2020
